VOHWM?

Voice of His Word Ministries, or VOHWM, is a non-profit, faith- based organization focused on preaching, teaching and practicing the whole gospel of Jesus Christ through: Discipling and mentoring of Christians, providing material support for the immediate needs as identified by the rural community we serve (health care, food support, etc.), facilitating development training programs, supporting the establishment and growth of businesses in rural communities.

THE HOW:

How we tackle poverty

Our goal is to ensure access to quality education and healthcare, making employment and self employment easily attainable. We are an NGO that desires to "teach how to fish", which provides a self-sustaining environment. We do this through:

Discipling and Mentoring of Christians

Being a Judeo-Christian ministry, we strongly encourage and emphasize reading and studying the holy bible as one would an owner’s manual of a recently purchased appliance. The holy bible is our manual from our Maker and Creator to help us function properly in His earth. “Your word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11.

Development Training Programs for financial upward mobility

We also emphasize the fact that we have not come to dole out any gifts, ’starter packs’, or any largesse to individuals as is normally done by local “champions” who come regularly to fleece the people. Our policy is to “teach them to fish”, rather than to keep giving them “fish” to eat.

Training programs are the primary vehicles we employ to renew the minds of the citizenry, to make them useful and employable and even become employers of labor.

With the help of a consultant, ECIM drew up a development program that focused on “renewing the minds” of these young adults through skills acquisition and business development training.

“If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;...,” for the mouth of the LORD has spoken. (Isaiah 1:19)
